Established in 1978 Nehru World School is an English medium co-educational School affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (C.B.S.E.). NWS is the beginning of a lifelong adventure known as learning. The School nurtures a spirit that fosters children's natural inquisitiveness and delight in learning.

The School provides each student, an international and exciting educational experience designed to become a caring, thoughtful, principled and well-balanced human being. Students will have opportunities to become technologically literate, learn to communicate effectively, and take risks in a supportive environment.

Nehru World School received International School Award from the British Council in 2011 for successfully embedding internationalism in their curriculum. The School has a very strong Continuous Professional Development wing and regularly participates in Community Outreach programmes. In 2013, NWS was amongst the first schools in the country to offer CBSE I (International) Curriculum to its students.

The School uses a mix of technology and hands on learning approach to empower students with facilities such as 3D Lab, Mobile Laptop Lab and Mobile Science Trolleys along with work on the field to clear the concepts and develop critical thinking skills.

NWS is committed to the holistic development of each student. To that end, the School aims to develop a curious mind to question, explore, discover, evaluate, analyse, synthesise and reflect, enabling each student to consistently make their best better in order to achieve the highest academic standards of which they are capable.

Students’ physical, social, emotional, moral and creative development is also at the heart of the NWS learning experience. Students are constantly given opportunities to develop their talents to the full and to excel. Opportunities to show leadership and to become globally aware young people are also central to the enriching and motivating learning experience to be enjoyed.

I would like to share with you that research shows that intelligence can be developed. Students are more likely to develop their full potential particularly if they have a ‘growth mindset.’ This means that they demonstrate a desire to learn, have a tendency to embrace challenges, are persistent in the face of setbacks, seeing effort as the path to mastery and learn from feedback.

Especially for our students, I encourage everyone to read, the value of which is demonstrated in both of these quotations:

‘The more that you read, the more things that you will know.

The more that you learn, the more places that you will go.’

‘Today a reader, tomorrow a leader.’

I have also some learning tips for you if you get stuck with an aspect of your learning; these are things that you could do before you ask a teacher: reread the question, ask yourself what do I already know that could help me,  ask a friend, use a reference book, use a dictionary, check the internet, share the problem with a family member, go to another question and come back to the part that you are stuck on later.

I firmly believe that it is very important that we work together in partnership – the School, the parents the students and all stakeholders - to fulfil our mission “striving for excellence today, to prepare students to succeed in the challenges they face tomorrow.” I welcome your suggestions and feedback at all points of time and look forward to a new academic year, full of new learning and achievement for all of us.

“Excellent school with great parent communication. Both my kids study here, I would definitely recommend this school. The teaching is outstanding.”

Tarun Arora

“...The variety of learning experiences available is amazing. The thoughtful curriculum is perfect for a bright, curious child like ours. Yet, the best part of the school is definitely its staff which is caring and kind towards every child and parent, and the warmth can be felt the very moment you walk inside the glass doors and interact with just anyone from top to bottom. The school definitely goes out of its way to help out the parents and the child. Glad to be here.”

“...The way the teachers, the coordinators and other staff members attend the child, the parents and the countless queries is really praiseworthy and unforgettable. The curricular and co-curricular activities at the school are systematic, complete and impeccable.”

The Process

Admission to classes at NWS is dependent upon the availability of seats and the capability of the individual applicant as demonstrated during the admission test and the formal interview.

In assessing the suitability of a candidate, our admission staff reviews each applicant's complete application. The applicant's prospects for success are evaluated thoroughly by at least three experienced staff members working independently of the other. This reliable and responsive process has, over the years, enabled us to know a great deal about our students before they enrol, which facilitates our planning for their future integration into the School community. We follow a three-step system to grant admissions:

Step 1: Get a prospectus and application package from the School or Online (Costing ₹ 1500)

Step 2: Submit a Hard copy of the form along with the required documents to the school

Step 2: The applicant appears for a test (wherever applicable) and personal interview (along with parents) with the Admissions Board

Step 3: If admission is granted, submit fees and required documents at the specified date

Registration dates and Eligibility

Play-Group & Pre-Nursery

Registration for Play Group and Pre-Nursery batches begin at different intervals throughout the year.

Children are able to gain admission to Early Years from the academic year that they become 2 years of age.

Further details regarding Early Years admissions can be obtained from the School reception desk.

Registration for Nursery begins in the month of August of the preceding academic session.

Students who have completed 3 years of age by 31st March of the corresponding academic year are eligible to apply.

All other classes

For Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary classes, the application process is open from the previous August prior to admissions in March/April of the following year. We request you to contact the School office for grade-specific details.

School Visits

A visit to NWS is best understood as a chance for visitors and their families to see the school in action and to introduce themselves. Visits are therefore only scheduled while classes are in progress. A typical visit consists of a talk with a member of the admission staff, a tour of the campus with a guide, and a family conference at which the staff member answers questions about the School, to convey a sense of how NWS will fit into your school search.

Before you visit the School, making a wish list of your academic and co-curricular expectations is always a good idea so that you can make the most of your visit to the School. Visitors should read the prospectus carefully before they come in order to have the best possible sense of the School's goals, programmes, and facilities.

School Fees 2020-21 (In ₹)
(Updated as per UP Government orders due to COVID 19 Pandemic)
