Why do we teach German at NWS?

In a world with more than 7000 languages, why did we choose German as a foreign language for our students? Will learning German facilitate or strengthen the student's educational journey? 

We chose German of all languages because Germany offers free higher education to all students regardless of nationality. However, the student must be proficient in German to be eligible for in-take in German Universities. Furthermore, learning German unlocks myriad opportunities as Germany is the 5th largest economy in the world. 

A masterful grasp of German will open doors to countless jobs, not to mention Germany is home to leading names like BMW, Volkswagen, Bosch, Adidas, Allianz, Deutsche Bank, Siemens, SAP several others. And lastly, Germany offers excellent research opportunities. Furthermore, learning the German language will unlock distinguished career opportunities in India because more and more organisations are hiring German-speaking candidates for various distinguished projects, in Germany and all of Europe because German is spoken in several European countries.

Nehru World School is one of the only five schools PAN India to gain the DSD Pasch recognition. NWS offers German as a subject from Grade 6. We further try to hone the language proficiency of the young learners by introducing them to platforms like Namastey Deutschland, FerienIntensivTraining – FIT in Deutsch, Internationale Deutschsprechstunden, and others. 

Learning a foreign language helps students imbibe an impeccable skill set, including enhanced problem-solving skills and creative thinking capacity, improved attitude, diction, memory, and knowledge.
