NWS, Ghaziabad hosted an interschool quiz on ‘Earthquake Tips’ on 21st December 2019. The quiz was conducted by National Information Centre of Earthquake Engineering’ (NICEE, IIT Kanpur) with an aim to generate awareness and help build an earthquake resistant environment through seismic safety.
A total of 5 Schools from North Zone participated in this quiz which was judicially adjudged by Mr. Suresh Ailawadi, a consultant at NICEE who was felicitated by Director Administration- NWS, Mr. K.P. Singh. The quiz was conducted in 3 rounds in which well-informed subjective questions were asked. The first round consisted of simple questions on earthquake, the second round had pictorial questions and the final round was ‘Lucky Number Round’ which was quite an innovative and interesting round of asking questions. The students picked up random numbers and question of that particular number was asked.
NWS, Ghaziabad secured 1st Position, hence qualifying to the National Level which would be conducted at IIT Kanpur.
The event was culminated by the Head Teacher- NWS, Susan Holmes who stated that such events inculcate respect towards each other and their opinions and also give opportunities to prepare meticulously for such events.
We at NWS believe that such events would definitely create awareness among the youth and wish luck to NWS, Ghaziabad for the National Level.
