Is your child a GLOBAL citizen?

Our children are citizens of…?

We at NWS feel that in this interconnected world, things are not contained by the country borders, we all are global citizens. Our bigger responsibility as global citizens is to raise future global citizens.

Education is the bridge connecting people, cultures, and nations worldwide! This is why education must constantly evolve with the global paradigm. Owing to the same, lifelong learning with global accreditation is at the heart of everything we do at NWS. We provide students with countless international opportunities at their disposal to help them build skill sets and be future leaders in the learning process.

Some things we do at NWS to raise global citizens are:

International Curriculum

NWS provides a comprehensive academic curriculum supported by a process of teaching and learning that encourages students to develop skills of critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and creativity. International curriculums bring these life-essential values from across the globe to your child through books, plans, discussion forums, and assignments.

International and National Days

Celebrating all the relevant national and international days allow students to learn about the significance of countless globally recognised issues and causes. This includes discussions, talking diaries, competitions, creative activities, donation drives, and social campaigns, amongst others.

Global-Level Competitions

We prepare our students for a global outlook, which is why we allow them to face international-level challenges early on. Participating in these competitions tremendously adds to their skills and sharpens their personalities.

Video Conferences and Student Interactions

Our students participate in regular student interactions and video conferences with peers around the world, taking part in discussions and interactions about different cultures, events and challenges, trying to solve problems with innovative solutions as well as understand others’ perspectives.

NWS recognises that smaller actions within the classroom or local community led by students can contribute to solving or reducing global issues. The UN SDGs and the Good Life Goals provide a framework for us to create learning opportunities for learners to develop and demonstrate global competence.

Children have the capacity and motivation to act on issues of significance and make meaningful changes within their homes, schools, and communities. The international dimension provides learners with the opportunity to explore issues of significance, express their interests, ideas, and intentions and extend their experiences and interactions. They highlight the independence and interdependence of people, countries and cultures and represent these beyond that related to their own nationality and identity.

The International dimension enables facilitators to support learners to:

  • Engage and enjoy the natural world

  • Acknowledge and accept differences

  • Consider choices and long-term consequences

  • Strengthen their capacity to take action and make a difference

Globalisation has affected students on a local, national, and international level, and our education system must prepare students for these new realities. So, yes, International exposure is as crucial as national exposure to help our students become the global citizens we envision them to be!
