CREO- Day1, 2019 @ NEHRU WORLD SCHOOL – GHAZIABAD

 

NWS, Ghaziabad cherishes the youngsters and encourages them to explore their true potentials by awakening their passions and cultivating their talents. As a step forward in this direction, NWS organized its seventh Inter School Festival – ‘CREÒ - 2019’ for contributing to innovation and solidarity and to enhance the spirit of novelty, creativity and brotherhood. This year the 3 day event-‘CREÒ-2019’ started on 8th August 2019. The grandeur event started in the benign presence of Susan Holmes-Head Teacher NWS and the esteemed judges of various events, teacher in charges and participants from various schools.

The festival has more than 3500 participants from 63 schools to take part in 29 competitive and non-competitive events in the fields of Photography, Art and Craft, Dance, Public Speaking, Environment and Technology, Performing Arts, Literature , Story Telling, Clay Modelling and Theatre.

The Head Teacher, NWS in her welcome note stated that “The goal of education is not to increase the amount of knowledge but to create the possibilities for a child to invent and discover, to create people who are capable of doing new things.” She also emphasised that “It is better to create than to learn! Creating is the essence of life, in the course of the CREÒ 2019 festival, participants will have the opportunity to further develop the skills and attributes that they possess, including creativity, communication and collaboration.”

The first day of the event began with a lot of gusto on 8th August 2019 in which around 950 Pre-primary participants across 55 schools from NCR contributed in the event. To name a few schools, A.K. Children Academy, Ahlcon International School, Amity International School Sec-6, Vasundhara, Brightland School, Ch. Chhabil Dass Public School,  Dehradun Public School, DPSG, DPS Siddharth Vihar,  DLF Public School, JKG International School, New Era School, New Rainbow Public School, Renaissance School, Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Silver Bells School, Silver Line Prestige School, St. Thomas School, Sun Valley International School, Mount Litera Zee, Lotus Valley international, Mayur School Noida, Sapphire International, Bal Bharti Public School, Rosebell Public School, St. Xavier’s High School, GD Goenka, Gurukul. The participating schools contributed whole heartedly to Dancing Superstars, Clay Modelling, Shape O’ Magic, Just a Minute, Tearing and Pasting, Once upon a time, Math Mania to display an array of talents and skills.

Arunabh Singh (Director, NWS) opined that this event has a distinct culture in the cradle of which promising children are progressively acquiring good traits, habits and education. The aim of the event is to create a free and healthy atmosphere to inculcate the spirit of nationalism, brotherhood, a sense of discipline, gentle manners and refined tastes.  Efforts are being put in to galvanize the hidden talents of students, build their confidence and create awareness so that when they grow up they may be ready to face the competitive world.

To appreciate the efforts of the participants, NWS being the host, maintained the spirit of participation and winning and the positions that the students of our School achieved in the events were shared.

The first day of the event marked its success with great fervour.

 

 

Day- 2 ‘Creo 2019’ @ Nehru World School

 

The second day of the Inter School Competition ‘Creò 19’ began with the same zeal and enthusiasm as witnessed on the first day of the event. 1004 students from 62 schools participated on the second day.  A total of 10 events took place on this day.

Susan Holmes, Head Teacher- NWS stated that such interschool events play a role in motivating students to perform, excel and offer a lot more reward than just winning a prize. Competitions offer a chance for participants to gain substantial experience, showcase skills, analyse and evaluate outcomes and uncover personal aptitude. Competitions also encourage students to adopt innovative techniques and develop their ideas and skills.

The second day of the event too marked a huge success, triggering the excitement for the final day of the event.

Closing Ceremony ‘CREÒ 2019’ @ NWS, Ghaziabad

 

NWS, Ghaziabad’s ‘CREÒ Fest 2019’ marked its closing on 10th August 2019 fulfilling the School’s vision of “Striving for excellence today, to prepare students to succeed in the challenges they face tomorrow.”

The event took place for three days with 3500 students from 62 schools of Delhi and NCR participating in 29 innovative events. It has been both an enriching and exhilarating experience.

The Head Teacher-NWS, Susan Holmes stated that “The goal of education should be to create the possibilities for a child to invent and discover, to create people who are capable of doing new things.”

She also said “Creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes, and having fun.” She was confident that the students must have enjoyed and learnt from these special experiences which this 3 day event had offered.
