Nehru World School participated in NAMASTE DEUTSCHLAND - 2016, an Inter-School German language Festival, on 22 October, 2016 at Delhi Public School Vasant Kunj . Five students attended workshop on Mosaic , Entdeckungsreise Deutschland and Higher Education in Germany.
The Head of the Cultural Department of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, Dietrich Graf von der Schulenburg was the Chief Guest at the Event and complimented the creativity and enthusiasm of the participants.
The language festival is an essential aspect of the partner-school program (PASCH-Initiative) in India. Under PASCH Initiative, the Goethe-Institut and ZfA (Zentralstelle für das Auslandsschulwesen) support the schools in India to introduce or develop German as a school subject.
The mega event saw participation of around 4000 students, representing around 100 schools from the entire NCR. A spectacular exhibition “Music in Germany” with 23 stalls showcased the spirit among German learners. They had put up various charts, models, games and musical instruments. Food and book stalls, live performances by school students were also a part of the festival. Various contests and workshop were held and the winners got the opportunity to perform in front of the Chief Guest and other dignitaries. This was indeed a wonderful opportunity for students to gain exposure.
