Nehru World School participated in a multipoint Video Conference on 20th October’16, exchanging their opinion on ‘The Essentials of Dialogue’. 20 students from NWS participated in the Generation Global VC with the students from SMP Islam Al Azhar 32 Padang (Indonesia), Istituto Comprensivo Casale Sul Sile (Italy), Bal Bharati Public School, Pitampura (India).
Students from each School shared their opinions about their faith. They expressed themselves conspicuously and made an effort to know each other better. Each School highlighted their way of expressing their community faith and how they are becoming more sensitive and tolerant towards each other’s faith. It was quite interesting when students shared their interpretation of the term ‘faith’ and shared how their ‘faith’ inspires and influences them in their lives for the decisions they make and its effect on their behaviours. The dialogue went deeper with reflection and response questions. The VC opened avenues for the students of 4 Schools to connect globally.
Generation Global Programme is a Tony Blair Faith Foundation initiative which was launched in India in 2009 and has been growing ever since. Through this students get a great learning about the world around and it also provides a platform to change the stereotypes of other cultures, countries and religions.
