Lifelong learning is the corner stone of all academic planning and activities at Nehru World School, Ghaziabad. The School provides education to students from Play-Group to senior secondary level across science, commerce and humanities streams. Teaching, learning and assessment are all intertwined and focus on learning in various settings, within and outside the classroom. At Nehru World School, there is a strong belief that learning takes place best when the learner discovers facts and ideas rather than being taught.

Assignments, projects, worksheets, presentations, collaborative activities, unit tests and end of term examinations are the tools through which the performance of a student is analysed. We at NWS continuously strive to experiment and innovate to provide a better learning environment.

Curricular Structure

Nehru World School follows an age appropriate curriculum that focuses on integration of learning components. The curriculum is child oriented, skill based and emphasises learning at individual pace. The emphasis is not on the content but on the skills that a child needs to acquire. The Curriculum is a flexible blend of guided structures and the teacher's creative touch.

Teaching Methodology

Teaching at Nehru World School aims at concept and skill development rather than mere acquisition of knowledge. Our system makes the student central to the learning structure. He/she is supported by teachers and a strong peer group. In this scheme of things, enquiry learning is the main goal, wherein students discover concepts, explore them and apply the same in the real world.  Listening, communication and presentation skills are developed among students to ensure holistic learning. Our methodologies include inspiring a competitive and challenging environment for youngsters, with a supportive base.

Creativity is the cornerstone of teaching at Nehru World School which ensures freedom to teachers and students to explore experiment and innovate. Be it Science, Mathematics, Humanities or Languages, the spirit of enquiry and zest for knowledge are evident from the way students deal with classroom activities.

ICT in Education at NWS

In an era of IT revolution, teaching cannot stay far behind. Teaching at the school is a fine blend of latest multimedia technology coupled with the quintessential creativity of the teachers. This service is provided by the School in collaboration with NIIT. Most subjects are integrated with technology and regular visits are scheduled to Computer Laboratories and Audio-Visual rooms which house state-of-the-art LCD Projectors.
Each of our teachers is skilled in the use of computers and latest electronic teaching aides. Web based assignments are part of regular academic activity.

The Continuous Professional Development wing of the School offers time bound learning activities for teachers to help them upgrade their skills and enhance their know-how in their subject.
